EDITORIAL
February 2009 is going to be a busy month for datacenter managers and system administrators. There's the Paris edition of Microsoft Tech Days during the second week of the month, where we can expect to see how Windows Server 2008 R2 with the new version of Hyper-V improves the resilience of server clusters. In this environment Double-Take's GeoCluster solution, eliminating the need for a SAN, makes physical and virtual server migration faster and more efficient.
Then at the end of the month there's the VMWorld conference in Cannes – three days with every key player in the virtualisation industry present. Customers of VMware will be impatient to see the next release of ESX, and we can also expect new solutions for virtual server backups, replication and migration. In this issue of ITRecovery News we take an early look at some of these questions; in our next edition there'll be full reports on both events. |
